    Re: Green heron

I think one day I should start looking for them myself

Good post. A bit too bright though.

We have them at the terminal but they are always either too far away or it's too dark in the marsh where they hang out.

Love those Green Herons. Those guys are all over the place here by my house.
Nice capture and pose. As AE mentioned looks a tad to bright but still a fine shot!.

    Re: Green heron

Great composition on this shot, very clean. Always had a warm spot in my heart for the "lesser known" herons - the green, the tricolor and the various crested night herons, all very cool to see in the wild

    Very nice pose.

I too think it's a bit bright and contrasty, but that can easily be fixed

    Very nice!

    I'm loving all these birds.

Almost makes me want to go look for some.

    Re: Green heron

Personally I really like the bird itself but I find the background to be a little hard on the eyes. Maybe it's just me, but when I look at the picture the background actually hurts my eyes a bit. Did you photo-shop it? If you did, maybe you can try a different effect to blur the background. Something to make it softer.

    Re: Green heron

Thanks for the comments and suggestions!

The only thing I did to the background was to clone out a small branch. I did hike up the contrast/saturation from the original, though, as it was very "flat".
