    Re: Great Blue Heron

The file seems a bit soft in the head region, but over all it's a very pleasing image with a bit of editing to bring out more detail.

I am sorry if you are affended that I edited your image, but writing it just doesn't tell the idea like an image does.
The overall blue cast does set a mood, so disreguard the warmth of my edit if that was your desired affect.

I hit the file with auto color, opened up the shadows a bit, ran it through noiseninja, smart sharpen (lens blur) and a bit of USM really fast .

Besides the softness of the file(editing, foggy, slow shutter speed..?) this image is great!

Thanks for your edit, I don't mind at all.

What sharpening software did you use?

Really neat image. I love the log/rock that the bird is sitting on. It looks almost like the head of a something lurking in the water.

    Re: Great Blue Heron

    I used PS CS2 with a noise ninja plug-in

Noise ninja does some sharpening and I added the smart sharpen after that , then some light unsharp mask(which all photoshp versions have....I think)

I oversharpened it for a file that size though (atleast to my taste)

Great colors here. I think the color makes the photo. I agree its a little soft but I also agree that Paul's is a little oversharpened. Great shot though.

    Thanks everyone for your feedback.

I think the image is "special", a rare capture for me. I'm going to work with it in NIK sharpener.

    thanks shane

I have never used NIK software, but I do agree your image is VERY special due to the sceen it was photographed in!
