Grasshopper....KA-CHOMP!...?

So I thought I was being very stealthy, sneaking up on this guy clutching the top of a flowering plant. I snapped a few shots, and was surprised the little critter didn't go bounding away.

when I went around to the other side to snap some profile shots, I realised why...


I think this was his final perch, as something appears to have come along and taken a sizable chunk out of his thorax region...
