Downtown Peoria (not too far away from me) has a nesting pair of Peregrines in the cliffs of stone and steel. The female is banded but hasn't been too cooperative with some very intrepied and devoted spotters and their scopes to see whence she hails. The male has swooped and done the usual things they do but no one has seen if he is also banded.
They are nesting atop a bank building. I've got some time slotted to go see them. Camera gear going as well. They of course picked a spot that it's next to impossible to see the nest from the ground or even another building. Now lets see, there's this gal who owes me a flight or two in her plane ....
I've only seen bad video stills so far and had a report from a very excited friend. I always liked the peregrines in Chicago eating lunch on the window sills of some building I frequented.
Will update.
