    Gone Fishin'

All this talk of fishing here finally got me back throwing a bug. I used to fish about as much as I shoot now - but haven't fished for over a year. Took the kids to a local park pond this weekend and I tried out my 4-piece, 3-weight rod that I bought last year but never used.

Nothing to brag about but nice to get out. Say, anyone see Big Baldo lately?

HA!! I'm glad I could help by passing the "fishing bug" on!!
Thats a blast getting into those shellcrackers and bream(bluegill, sunfish) on a lightweight fly rod. Right now they are all on the beds and super aggressive and super fun!! A few years back I got into vermiculture (worms) just for this time of year and panfish LOVE 'em!!

I havent had much of a chance to do anything but work and entertain the past few days.:mad2: I started a new construction project the same time some friends and their 4 children came for a visit.:cryin: :cryin:
Ive been reading posts but always with someone over my shoulder driving me crazy. Hopefully next week I will be back in the game.

And you take them off the hook yourself?!?!

Needless to say, I never get invited to go fishing

Nice to hear you had a good time.

Beautiful fish, Loupey. I used to spend a couple hours every night pounding the harbors of lake michigan from the shore - they get quite a bit of fishing pressure from people looking for perch or "anything that bites," so I did alright targeting just the bass.

Our bass rigs up here are medium weight spinning rods, not quite the same league as you southern guys are in, Baldo. I'm also not so sure about this "fly" fishing stuff, sounds like a lot of effort besides, how the heck do you texas rig a fly??
