    Goldfinch

    These little birds don't usually show up until later in the season and I was happy to see this "early bird".

    Nice! love how all the colors merge nicely in the composition without talking the weight out from the bird.

    BJW: Very nice. Love your DOF and you did a great job getting his head and body in the best part of your background. I looked at your EXIF. About what distance away were you?

    Paula, I have a bird feeding "photo station" on my patio and I make almost all of my bird photos through my den door. I was probably 6 or 7 feet from the bird. I attempted making bird pictures in the wild but just never could get close enough to them unless I used a spotting scope with the camera. I realized I was just too old to drag a spotting scope and tripod around and came up with an easy solution . Thanks for your nice comment.
