The weatherman has promised me lows in the single digits for this weekend, which means that there will not be an early start to Chicagoland amphibian season this year - although my friends from southern Indiana are all reporting lots and lots of salamander movement, and the spring frogs are all up and about as well. In the meantime, here's a fattailed gecko in a lightbox. The fall palette works well, too bad it's about the least natural backdrop anyone could provide.
aside: The colors and contrast of this photo changed when I uploaded it to the PR gallery - I'm trying to figure out why right now. Seems much less saturated and less contrasty when placed next to the original in photoshop, despite working in the same color space. Wonder what's up with that?
