That's a bold composition! Neat how a straight board can look like a pyramid - I'll have to remember that.

    btw, what is REI?

    Thanks!

REI is an outdoor equipment store that started in the Pacific Northwest. If you love an outdoor sport, they can get you geared up for it. In addition to offering gear and a coop membership, they have an outdoor school that helps introduce you to different outdoor activities. My husband and I took a photography class, and in two weeks he is going with me to an intro to mountain biking class. For a one day class, it was informative and you do get some individual instruction. This was my second time taking it and it was fun to see how much my images have improved in 3 years.

    Re: Fountainhead Regional Park

My son works for REI but have never heard of a photo class.
Don't think they carry much in the way of photo equipment.

I like the boldness of this shot. Boardwalk looks tilted but maybe it was?
I'd like a little brighter to bring out detail in shadows.
    Keep Shooting!

    Re: Fountainhead Regional Park

This is a staircase that I happened to find off the shore walkway. I couldn't keep the camera flush on the railing and maintain the ability to see the shot to set focus. During the class I tried to focus on shots that I wouldn't normally take.

The class is pretty regular here in the DC area, unfortunately I don't know much about what they offer in other regions.
