I've no idea on the butterfly, they are a common type seen in the woods early in the spring. One of the first insects I see in spring. Our warm weather has come unseasonably early this year. On my walk today I see the snow is almost all gone yet the ponds remain basically dry other than a small shallow puddle way out in the middle. We need rain badly, these dry conditions are hard on the local wildlife.
