First Tropical Fish Shots -- Your Help Please

Ok, while waiting for my mother to finish at the ear doctor's today, I tried my first ever tropical fish shoot. I did some pp in Digital Image Pro 9 so that they'd look halfway presentable. Any help/advice/suggestions?

Wheres Almo when you need him!!! I dont have much experience in shooting fish(except with a rod-n-reel). Maybe Almo can chine in with some advice. If you havent seen his photos in the "april photo projects" they are definately worth a look!

John, you shot from too far back - hence the glare and dirt on the glass.

Get closer to the glass, shoot straight on, and fill the frame with more of the fish. :thumbsup:

Thanks Loupey. I'll also remind them to clean the outside of the aquarium too.

Take your own cleaning gear
And perhaps some black material to drape over the camera/round the lens so there's no highlights to reflect on the glass.

Thanks Paul, I'll put a bottle of Windex in the car
I've been meaning to get some kind of dark cloth for the camera too. I'll have to check the rag bag.

if you are gonna use windex .. spray teh cloth first and do not spray anywhere near the tank. The ammonia in the windex will kill the fish and I am sure the ear doctor won't appreciate you killing his salt water tank off for him lol. Windex wipes work great. I carry a pack in my camera bag all the time.
