First Post of 2008 - Winter walkabout

So I dragged my bum into work this morning with a prediction of 15CM of snow to fall. Snow is a bus drivers friend. It kept most of the people away all day. The only problem I had was that I forgot my camera at home when I left for work. My loving wife showed up to pick me up at the end of my day and handed me a bag with a change of clothes AND MY CAMERA!!

So she dropped me off in a local park for me to walk home from there and take advantage of the failing light of the day and grab as many shots as I could in the 30 - 40 min it would take me to get home.

    Here's my top 5:

#1 - Downy woodpecker sitting in a treetop about 100 feet up. I was lucky enough to be walking across a bridge and spotted him hanging in there in the 40 KPH winds

#2 - Male Cardinal sitting in a bush enjoying the view

#3 - You know we've had a weird winter when you can still find green in the midst of a snow storm lol.

#4 & #5- The fallen trees make for some interesting subject matter.
