As usual, there are always plenty of other species around than the ones I actually went into an area to photograph. I always try to capture any bird that is in a nice pose, or good light.....regardless of what else is out there. Here are a few recent "opportunity" shots:
Crested Caracara
Little Blue Heron (breeding plumage)
Glossy Ibis in flight. Manual mode - exposure adjusted on the fly (I was set up for white birds when he flew in).
Black-Necked Stilt - A tough bird to photograph. They have red in their eyes, and you don't see it unless you have proper head turn and light angle.
Laughing Gull - I just liked the comp.
