A few Pelicans arrived today

A small group of male pelicans flew into my fishing hole today.









They had about as much luck fishing as I did.

I really like the beak structure...great for stability at high speeds I suppose. Pelicans always look like they're named Bob.

Imom, Last year when I posted a few pelican shots paulnj told me that thing on the beak has to do with attracting a mate.

Kristine, I hope to print a few. These are a little overexposed. I was unable to recover all the feather detail in PP.
My plan is to get the kayak out and try to get a little closer. These are all about a 50% crop.

Ken, Taking the camera along on a fishing trip really does help pass the time if they are not biting.
