    A few more macro bugs

here's a few more shots from my recent bug outing (about 400 frames over two hours) that I think are worth keeping. I hope you enjoy them!

I have to agree number 2 is striking. These are all great shots.

Re: A few more macro bugs

    thanks!

Strictly a hobby for me, i'm not sure there is much of a market for reptile and insect photos, and the H5 isn't quite a perfect match for bird shots. I guess stock sites or publishing companies might be interested, but I'd rather just get them printed myself - more control over the reproduction and display.

One trick that works well for macros is to hold the camera out at arm's length, bracing the camera strap against your neck. Since the LCD has live preview, you can shoot with the LCD and not get so close to the bugs - and therefor don't scare them away as quickly! All of these shots were taken from about a foot from the bug, give or take. Bracing the strap against your neck will help cut down on vibration.

Heh...#2 does look like a wheel waiting to be spun...I like that one the best, and number 3, with all the pollen on his legs. These are all really nice.
