Larry, the first 3 are very nice with the 2nd being my favorite, but I think you went way overbourd with the spray bottle on the last one
Paul I am offended!!! I would never lower myself to such a tactic. The heavens themself supplied those precious drop of rain to that poor dieing flower.

Can you ever forgive me I just thought that one looked way to wet compared to the first 3, but I guess it was the first or last image you took?
Sorry if I affended you, but many people do just that.
Paul I have a very thick skin and you most certainly didn't offend. I have seen the spritzer trick used but that wasn't the case on these. I believe the difference was that the evening primrose was in the shade by the house and the drops weren't blown off by wind or evaporated by the sun that came out after the rain.

Lovely series OT, they are all special but the first one is my favourite, beautiful capture of that "raindrop", with reflection.
Thanks Bevb. They are not as dramatic and exciting as your birds in flight, but I felt real good about capturing that reflection shot. Made it worth getting the tripod out. That was shot with the 105 and a 20mm tube by the way.

I will have to try the spray bottle trick with birds  I wonder if it can be achived?
I always heard it was salt on the tail that worked.

Personally I like the "over spritzered" picture. Reminds me of an umbrella that is partially closed. I've got one of those big sun umbrellas that is on an arm and 'hangs' over you on one deck.
Thanks CDP. That bloom is a day old evening primrose. They bloom at about sunset each evening and are beautiful all night and in the early morning. By mid morning they are in the condition you see this one in. Much like a collapsed umbrella as you pointed out. This one was clinging to those rain drops like it's life depended on it. Sorry to say nothing was going to help it. It's time was over.

Beautiful shots, OT! The purple flower in the first pic...I coincidentally got some shots of that type with rain on them also...a few days ago. They're very pretty with the drops on them.
That they are. Joy's Hosta's are loaded with blooms right now. They are in a kind of bad place between houses to photograph, but this one turned out ok.
