    Fawn Portrait

This is a portrait of a fawn that I got within a dozen feet or so of a couple of weeks ago. I got a few shots of him before he figured out where that funny noise was come from and bolted. By the way, I get very close to wild deer by climbing into a fallen tree along their travel routes. Makes the best natural blind in the woods.

Very nice capture here. I also like the other deer picture in your other thread. Good work!

Thanks, both of you. Even with a 200mm, one get a lot of bokha (sp?) if you're close.
A lot of people seem to prefer their animals looking right into the camera, but I think they are much better if they are looking away or doing something that looks candid.
