Face to Face - Zoo Shot

Giant Cockroaches. Through the terrarium glass, flourescent lighting, 800 ISO, handheld. My keeper friend wasn't working yesterday so I could not 'play' with the bugs. Made a couple of new aquaintances(more on that in the next day or so).

And i hope they stay locked up hehe. Would be nice to have a filter to neutralise shooting trough glass efect. Just how big are these guys ?

It's the hissing Vietnamese variety that bother me. These are about 3 1/2 - 4 inches long. Lots of post processing to get rid of much of the 'glass' and bad light effects. Shooting RAW helps but still, I'd rather put one on my hand and shoot under a window. Maybe in the next week or two time permitting.

The cropped tail sort of bugged me too! Here's one last 'buggy' image

    Thanks!

I like the captured "moment" -- two fighters about to square off.
