    Elk

This has been cropped and I tried to fix the lighting and color but it looks just plain weird to me now.

    Re: Elk

My god those are huge elk! Having only seen the tule elk in AZ in summer, these are amazing!

    Where was this shot BTW?

I think you may have lighened it too much. Maybe try to adjust the curves and levels, add some contrast and sharpen it a bit more ? This is an image with great potential, though I like it alot as is!

    Anthony,
I like this crop better than the one you posted on the Critique board. Great shot.

    Re: Elk

    Hey Anthony

Glad you made it over here with this great shot!

We're not a critique board so much, just a bunch of folks who appreciate wildlife.

Sometimes we can get a little carried away altering our pictures to "fit the bill." It sounds as if you might not be happy with this image the way you edited it from your critique post. Remember that you're the one who counts here, not the critiquers! If you think a better crop or density would be more appropriate, then that's what you should go with.

I like this crop better but I agree that it may have been lightened a little too much.

Welcome to the boards! Make sure you post some more wildlife and nature shots in here!

    Anthony,
What do you think of this? I hope you don't mind but I put it in Paint Shop Pro X and applied a fill flash to your original image. I left it uncropped because I think the skies behind them bring a sense of regality to them.
