So the clouds didn't come to the party, good thing the earth has colors all its own.



Taken at the beginning of Silver Canyon outside Bishop, CA. This is the road in -



It was really windy as you can see if you look at some of the fg plants, but it was part of the whole high desert kind of thing.



The town basically takes up the whole valley and is surrounded by cattle ranches. We drove up Silver Canyon Road for a while. It's all pretty much like this with many stream crossings like this one -



For once we had a rental car that was mostly up to the task.

Looking at those snow capped peaks is really nice with temps in the mid-nineties here.
