Hi Green, a nice shot but it looks a bit over sharpened to me which is fixable. What is probably not fixable is that you have got a slight smudge from a closer piece of out of focus grass or something going across the underside of the bird. It looks like it might have even been something you cloned out.
That said the pose of the bird is good as is the angle of the head. I think your going to have to try again with a clear field of vision between you and the subject. I know, easier said than done.

It looks way too underexposed to me.

Judging by the shadows, this should have been much brighter.
