    Eagles feeding on carrion

Now that most of our snow is gone, it's easier for the wildlife to find the carrion that was covered up by the snow.

An interesting series. Is that a deer carcass in the middle of a field of stubble? Gotta wonder what killed the deer. Several year back we had a problem with eagles dying because farmers were poisoning wolf kills.

Time and effort was worth it. The actions of the subject were great as well as the nature.

    Thanks everyone.

Shyanni, yes, it's a deer. The deer was most likely killed by a car since this was right next to a highway. Now that most of our snow is gone, you can find the road kill in the ditches much more easily. After I left this location, I found 2 more carcasses in the ditch on my way home, within a couple miles of town. One of them had an eagle feeding on it. I believe it was probably the eagle in flight in the 2nd image that had left this spot and went and found another meal without having to wait in line.
