Those are really awesome shots, but how do you get so close without disturbing them?

I am able to shot these Eagles from my SUV with a window mount mono pod on the back road I am on. Staying in the truck doesn't disturb them. I am about 50 -75 feet away depending where the sun is and shooting with a focal length of 550mm.

Thanks for the explanation Eric. In what area do you live? Are they there all year? In my area outside of Chicago and only shooting on Sundays, limits greatly my chances of getting nice blue skies and good light to get shots as beautiful as yours. Also, their nest is way far down the river bank and I am affraid to walk down there through the woods. I don't want to scare them away. I also only have like 2+ months to see them. THey are a real treat to see around here!
    I love your photos!!
