    Duck behaviour...

Anyone familiar with it? I would be interested to know why these Ducks were doing what they were doing.

There were 3 Ducks. One seemed to be shouting at the other 2 who were splashing around in circles. It probably only lasted 30 to 60 seconds.
Then one of them flew off closely followed by the other.

Since they are all males, I would guess that one was protecting it's territory against the other two.

Yeah I had thought about that but they all seemed so happy swimming around afterwards. Very confusing.

    Re: Duck behaviour...

Alison, I have some ducks and they sometimes seem to have disagreements. Usually it is the biggest male putting the younger ones in their place and they return to their normal peaceful state very quickly after the row.
Maybe this explains your ducks behavior.

Maybe they're just showing off for each other. You know how males can be.
