She gave up and walked off bored in about 5 minutes, but he stayed up there for 10 minutes until I just had to go to work.
No way was the squirrel coming down, just in case she came back.
He just reversed up under the soffit boards and stayed up there out of the way.

Thanks. Guess the cat got bored, particularly if the squirrel froze. From the cat's perspective, if it isn't moving and I can't chase it, then it isn't any fun.
