    disaster!!

well, my camera has been liberated from servitude - hopefully it's new owner enjoys it as much as i did. Looks like business insurance might cover it, so my fingers are crossed. Here's a shot from a couple of weeks ago.

The photo is good, lovely silhouette.

I hope your camera is covered.

GRRRRRRR..... I hate thieves! I hope your gear is covered and you are back up and clicking away ASAP.

Eric, do you know where I can get flightless friutflies, because everywhere in NJ can't get them this time of year. Little itty bit crickets are too big for a few of my treefrogs and I may have to release them if I can't get fruit flies soon.

BTW.. I am debating getting some waxy's and breeding them and maybe even some rarer geckos too

Erik, that sucks (the part about the loss)! The image is cool!

I assume you will replace it with the same make/model? You had some great macros come out of that one.

    Re: disaster!!

Still no word on the business insurance...My camera was removed from an employee-only area on the floor of my restaurant during a busy street fair (with my street fair photos still on the memory card) so i am optimistic. If this isn't what insurance is for, I don't know why we even have it!!

as for fruit flys, i would try reptilefood.com. I know they carry them. The thing that gets you is the shipping. If you get any geckos, I would imagine that we will get a deluge of images, so i look forward to that. I've really gotten out of geckos for the most part, i had a large colony of leopard geckos and fattailed geckos, now i just have the fattails and a couple of cresteds. Too much work, i much prefer the snakes because they only need to be messed with once a week or so. That and, crickets STINK.

My replacement will be another sony H1, although the H5's minor improvements are making me a little edgy to spend more. Still at under $500 i cannot go wrong either way. I briefly entertained the idea of getting a nikon dslr, but i would be talking about 5k in glass to get the shots i want...my willpower is poor enough as it is with $100 accessories, i don't need 400 primes getting me into trouble with my wife. Maybe one day when i strike the lotto.

    More as the situation develops.

Nice shot. I lost all my gear to a thief once several years ago. He broke into my car while I was at a theater. Two bodies and four lenses gone. My homeowners insurance paid up no question ask. I went back with Nikon gear and have never regretted the decision.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    Re: disaster!!

Eric, my GF is deathly afraid of snake, or I would be investing in Womas, boelen's or albino blackheadeds in the near future. I had well over a TON of Boids at one time and I assure you Mice, rats and rabbits stink quite badly too.

I want to try my hand at breeding treefrogs, and I am sure it's not as easy as Boids are.

While I know the designer geckos are the fad, I want unheard of ones. I can find crested geckos in 3 places within 20 miles of me(they are cool looking !) I want some giant geckos(Rhacodactylus leachianus), but they are a bit expensive. I may end up with Teratoscincus mackrenensis though
