I think it was a vole. Pretty large for such a small bird!

I love this bird too...definitely one of my favorites. I've seen one ONCE, and it was such a quick moment that I had no time at all to snap a picture.

I hate you!!!! I have only been close to a handfull of kestrels and I have been at it along time.

I'm with Paul. I hate you too. The kestral has been on my shot list for a long time, but I never see them on anything natural.

LOL, guys! I must admit that these birds are much more wary than about anything else that I've come across. Just about impossible to catch one in flight coming towards me. I'm hoping to get one hovering above me with deep blue skies...

The colors here look a little funky. Sorry about that. I'm in the middle of transfering everything to a new laptop (old one is acting crazy) and I'm not used to the colors of this new screen.

Oh, FWIW, the new Windows Vista.... sucks!
