Re: delicate arch by full moon

Dylan, I like pics 3 & 4 on your critique post - very cool

Those have much more dynamic interest than these shots. Your exposure of the moon makes it look like an underexposed day shot. Until you notice the stars. You questioned why the moon looks so bright (like the sun) - your long shutter time and/or wide aperture simply let in more light onto the film than a "normal" moon exposure does. It's not bad in your case because in doing so, you got the normally black sky to look more like daylight (and added detail in the arch shadows).

    Good job trying some different.

I took the liberty of playing around with your image #4. I did a simple levels/curves adjustment to bump up contrast and give it a more surreal look.

    Again, good job

wow that looks awesome.... if only i had PS (i don't know what the equivalent if there is one, in photostudio 5.5 (canon camera software)

and yeah i know the moon would be bright, but with time exposures on my digital camera the moon would become a 6 point star, so i was wonding how it "decides" wheather it stars or blobs out like this one.

and yeah it took me a while to realize why i liked 3 and 4 so much, and then i realized it was the stars that made it look so surreal.
