I have been watching this nest of three baby Great Horned Owls quite closely for nearly a month. Haven't been able to catch the momma at the nest but the babies are obviously well feed. I believe these chicks are about 5 weeks old now.

Doesn't look like there is much room for momma anymore. Maybe she is hanging out in a near by tree.

Great capture...twatch out for Mama....i have almost been de-scalped by one when I got to close to a nest!!! I thought she was out hunting....I was wrong!

They grow so fast that I don't think all 4 can quite fit on the nest anymore. One chick is a runt so perhaps there will be a shot when it's just the momma and the runt.

Time is running out since the leaves will fill out soon. Will keep you advised.
