A day in the big city...

Of Atlanta. I finally got a cardinal, I've never even had a blurry one. They were just too skittish or I only had a short lens with me, something always prevented it but I stalked this one for a long time and it gave up. Anyway, this mix of subjects comes from different areas in the city, including the Botanical gardens. Thanks for looking.

These images are all great, but I love those treefrogs? the most. I don't think they are dendrobates, though they look like they are.

That first shot has to be one of the best I have seen of a cardinal! Love the frogs too!

Agreed - that cardinal shot is very nice.

Your macros look great! You definitely have a jump start on us northern shooters. Looks like we're going to get fabulous 70-degree weather this weekend. Perhaps some buggies will be cooperative.

Re: A day in the big city...

Thanks! The comments on the cardinal means alot. You all help decide alot of what goes into competition for me (through your responses), and to receive such compliments from such a talented group is just wonderful.

Bev- my brother likes the first frog most too. He says it looks like it has sponsership logos all over it ( a nascar reference?).

Big Baldo - Yeah, frogs rock. I've just recently got into them, and have found some promising spots for native species, so hopefully soon some will be up.

Jaedon - thanks, I've been after a decent cardinal image since I first picked up a camera (about 2 years).

Paul - I can't figure out what they are, but I visit the bot. gardens at least once a season and will try to remember to check next time.

Copy - considering some of the work I see here, that is a tremendous compliment, thank you.

Loupey - The macro thing is becoming great fun, but a bit frustrating as most days are still fairly windy. You have much to do with my macro obsession, and if they look good, it's in part to you. Without the tutorials and excellent examples to teach and challenge the community here, it wouldn't be as much fun.
