    Coyotes at night...

I am actually ashamed to share these horrible pictures with you all. However this was the first time I had EVER seen 6 coyotes in one place before. I had my camera with me but I had the wrong lens on and my settings were for the daylight earlier in the day while it was light out. The first thing I did was put it on auto and used a flash. They all scattered around for the most part but amazingly enough they kind of hung around with me there I was able to switch lens out and then just I was about to shoot they started to run up the road. Just for the heck of it I beyond where they had gone and they actually continued on right past me as if I wasn't there. For a moment I thought about getting out for a better shot but then I only saw one of them present. After some simple math I looked behind my work vehicle and there were three just kind of waiting around It was pretty awesome to see them get tactical. I am glad math was one of my good classes Here are my really bad shots.

Cool experience, Dave, and thanks for sharing it with us.

What is the light source of the last image? Works well. Is it your headlights and were you out of the vehicle for that one? Good timing.

That is quite cool. Gosh, I think I would have just about died if I turned around and saw three more behind me...lol! Glad you stayed put. And I agree, it's cool that you got the shots, regardless!

Thanks for the nice comments everyone. I actually fired off about 20 shot but they're all bad because I don't have much experience shooting in these types of lighting conditions especially at the drop of a hat. The last picture in this set was taken with the high beams in the vehicle and ISO 1600. I tried to use the dial "S" but the exposure time was far too long for a properly exposed shot Next time I will be more prepared. I usually eat lunch at this time. Most of the animals at my work are at the same place at the same time everyday. They schedules just like us

That must have been soooo cool! If it had been me, all of the pictures would have been waaaay to blurry, as I'd have been shaking with excitement. Tough to take pictures with such an adrenaline rush! Thanks for sharing.
