Beautiful! These are one of my favorite songbirds, with their signature 'wichety, wichey' song. Although, here on Vancouver Island they sound more like their saying 'would eat chew, would eat chew'. I have given them the nickname 'woody chews'. To answer Big Sky Ken, they are a common summer bird here on the west coast, and according to my Sibley's field guide, all across North America down to the border of Mexico. The ones here tend to prefer fields with tall grass and low shrubs. They nest on the ground and the males are very defensive of their territory, coming out into plain sight and calling to lure any danger away from the nest site.
