    Close-up birds

I recently added some more birdfeeders to my backyard near my one bathroom window as its easy to get close-up shots of birds from this particular window.
A few days ago I noticed some uncommon visitors - a pair of eastern bluebirds, and the female landed on my backporch roof which can be seen from this window. Here is the best shot I got of her:

And here are a few others....

They all look great and you are very lucky to have a bluebird in your yard. I've only seen them once and it wasn't anywhere near my home.

    Great job and nice variety!

So are you shooting through the window glass? Excellent quality

    Re: Close-up birds

My grade 6 teacher would kill his family to see a Blue Bird lol. We spotted one on a walk in grade 6 while he was with another group. We had another teacher with us who agreed with our ID of the bird but my teacher refused to admit to himself that he was within a half kilometre of a BlueBird and did not get to see it lol.

And as Loupey said if you are shooting through glass, and still getting images as nice as those... you're doing awesome. Nice captures.

    Re: Close-up birds

    Thanks for the compliments everyone!
I have some images that were taken thru the window glass and some with the window open(which means I closed the bathroom door and stood there and froze while the cold air came in. Blasted cold weather! :mad2: )
If I remember correctly, the ones I posted so far were taken w/the window open.

This is the first time I've ever seen a bluebird on my property during winter. I've seen them only a few times in the summer over the years and also several times at a nearby park so this was a nice surprise.

Here are a few more that were taken thru the window glass. These are cropped quite a bit, unlike the previous which were only cropped slightly.
