Noise usually happens when your camera is set to a high iso. Setting your iso lower will greatly reduce noise but this might slow down your shutter speed too much to freeze wild life.
Im not a software expert at all but I asked many people here and on other sites and alot of people use photo shop to remove it. But I am a beginner when it comes to software so I think photoshop is alittle to confusing for me. I might purchase standalone noise reduction software such as noise ninja. I tried the free trial and its awesome! But this does not take out all noise it just helps reduce them. The less noise you have to begin with the better. However the free trial saves your noise reduced images with a annoying square grid on it, you would need to buy the software to get rid of them.
Great shot and comp by the way! I really want to get into wildlife photography my self.

I am not at home right now so I can't remember exactly what it is called, but in my Canon software that came with the camera, there is an adjustment called something like "recovery" something or other. I use it when either white are bown out or you get those marks from blacks. Maybe "Image recovery"?? LOL. I use it all the time and can't remember.
