Maddy, that is a tough ID due to the angle at which you shot it. Don't know if Paulnj can ID it but he's the man.

female black chinned or rufous is my educated guess. the male should be close by, is he orange or does he have a very dark throat?

not really. when she leaves the nest what color is she?

shes green with a white bum

then I would say it's a black - chinned hummingbird.... the males have the dark throat. only other hummingbird in that area that's those colors is anna's (only in vagas area in the whole state of nevada) and it has some reddish feathers in the throat .
