    Is that a bug?

Ok, this is not about the quality of this shot cuz it's a 100% crop shot with a 70-300 mm @300mm, the weakest focal length of that lens, from pretty far away. Anyhow, I was going through the files and saw this one after I zoomed in 100%.

See that highlighted black spot in front of the swallow?

I'm guessing it was a bug that this swallow was about to...swallow.

    What do you think?

    Re: Is that a bug?

Personally I think it is a UFO.

You are correct. Swallows and swifts are constantly snatching bugs out of the air but it is rare to see their prey with the naked eye, let alone getting a photograph of it. So you have a one-in-10,000 shot.

I've been trying for the last two years to get the exact same thing. Ever since BevB posted this thread:

    To catch a Mayfly!

Excellent job, AE. Thanks for sharing.

It was a total blind shot. 100% by chance. BevB's one is the read deal. Thanks for sharing that, Loupey.

I cannot even get a good shot of a swallow standing still. Great image accident or not.
