    The boys day out...

Had another beautiful day here the other day and "Boyfriend" the goose and his buddies were hangin' out enjoying the day. I'm guessing their respective mates are all back at the nest pushing out eggs (oww). Some things never change from species to species, eh?

Boyfriend and a couple buds coming to say hi...

The Mallard boys bathing and preening.

Boyfriend cracks me up. While the Mallards are drying off and sunbathing on the shore, Boyfriend is showing off in front of them how he bathes. These couple photos are all I got where you could actually see him in the shot because, for one, I was laughing so hard, and two, all the other photos were just water splashes with pieces of wing here and there. He was flopping around all over and even diving totally under water. I have never seen a goose do that! I'm like "Where did he go??" He was under water for like 8 seconds!

After this, he came over to show me how handsome he was (and eat some grass of course)

Beautiful Boyfriend, beautiful Mallards, beautiful day to be thankful for.

    Kristine <------- loves winged things.

Walk softly and carry a big lens.

    Really nice series, Kristine!

I LOVE #4!!! Appears like the mallards bathe with their bills only, while goose with water, trying to "teach" the mallards how it should really be done!

The last three are also my favourites, but I like the attitude in #4 most.
