    Talking "Boyfriend" the goose UPDATE

Ya'll remember "Boyfriend" the Canada Goose? He's the lone goose that befriended me the last 2 weeks. I apologize for posting so many photos, and some are horrible quality, but it tells a story so...

This is where I shoot when I have the chance at my full time job. There are 2 large drainage lakes on either side.

When I first noticed Boyfriend, he was all alone and just walking around. He would also walk across our inbound and outbound lanes to go from one lake to the other. That was about 2 weeks ago.

This week, I was really starting to get concerned. He was breaking my heart. He seemed so lonely... even hangin out with a Mallard couple who didn't seem to mind his company.

Everytime I would go out to get some shots of him, he would come closer and closer; not even wanting any 100% wheat bread I had. He just wanted the company! It got to the point where if I saw him far out in the pond and I would go sit on the grassy hill and call him, he would swim over and hang out... at times even getting out of the water and walking within a few feet of me! (really weird)

This time he took the bread...

Most of the time it seemed like he just wanted company. Up to this point, I still had not seem him fly and was worried he was hurt or something.
We would visit and then he would head back to the water pausing and looking back as if he was saying.... "wanna come too?"

Then on Friday, 2 very cool thinks happened. On one of our visits, I couldn't stand it any longer and when he started to walk to the water, I rather yelled at him to fly and... well....LOL

    YES!! I was super thrilled.

Then.... late in the day, I heard some honking going on. When I looked out to the west lake, I couldn't believe my eyes. Boyfriend was doing some heavy courting... (where did SHE come from??)

Maybe he had her all along and she's been sitting on some eggs. Oh boy! Little "Boyfriends" to photograph! I wonder if he will bring the whole family to me sometime. How cool would that be??

    For life...

    Kristine

LOL! Very nice series. Even has a Disney ending with a hook for a sequel. - TF
