Good luck. I've been trying to attract a pair for a couple of years with no success. - TF

    Re: Blue Birds

I have been seeing bluebirds for a couple of weeks now. I have a total of 7 nest boxes up and it appears that there is the start of a nest in one of the boxes. A couple of my boxes usually end up with wrens in them. This year I made a couple of boxes with a more natural looking front on them, see below. I'm hoping for some photos of birds going into a hole in a "tree" instead of a nest box.

Bluebirds are generally very tolerant of people so once they establish a nest, you should be able to get some great shots of them. They love meal worms so you may be able to offer them some food to stick around. They also love wax worms that you can pick up at most bait stores.

Excellent shots. I sure hope you can get a pair to nest in your bird houses.

Since the subject is Blue birds, hope it's ok to "chime in."
We have several houses but there is one that seems to be the favorite.l
In the past we have had as many as three "crops" in a season.
Here's a couple of shots from the past and just the other day.

I know what you mean. Of the 5 houses I have had for the last couple of years, only one has been consistent with bluebirds. I put up 2 more this week hoping for some more this year. Off to check on them now.

Here is one of my favorites from last year, and here is a gallery I put together for a friend last year.
