    Blackbird, it's what's for lunch

I was on a conference call just before lunch today and heard a ruckus outside. Upon further investigation I saw this hawk had caught a blackbird just outside my window and was proceeding to eat it. I shot some photos through the glass while I was still on the call but once it was done I was able to lean out another window for this clearer shot. The hawk saw me and didn't seem too concerned. I was maybe five feet away. Pretty neat!

Another one I thought came out pretty well.
Both shot with a Pentax K-5 and Pentax 18-135 zoom

well at least you got to see it. I run 2 feeders at my house and justget to see the poof of feathers left on the ground. We have quite a few red shouldered hawks in the area that are determined to avoid my lense

Very cool! The photos look great! That was very nice of the hawk to make a kill right outside your window. I would love to have a photo opportunity like that!
