    Black Crowned Night Heron

    Wow, you sure came back from your trip with a ton of great shots.

    I agree about the ID. A very young night-heron to be exact. Older birds have less yellow on the beak, adults have different body colouring and an all-black beak.

    Yep this one is really young! Nice job getting at him in an obviously difficult location.

    Thanks guys, a juvenile makes sense since the markings didn't quite add up to what I saw in my guide.
