    Black-Crown Night Herons

    Harsh light, but these are the first I've had an opportunity to shoot.

    Thanks guys. I think a lot of people will miss something about that pair shot. The smaller bird was actually about 4 feet closer! I had to use f/22 just to get both birds in focus at the distance I was. And hand held at that, so I had to try and keep shutter speed up to at least 1/100th. The fact that the rear bird is substantially larger than the front one plays kind of an optical illusion in this 2 dimensional image.
