    Birds from the weekend

All taken with the 100-400 using the tips everyone passed on last week.

Thanks it seems to be getting better.

A swan with an itch which came to the back of my boat.

Cool images, the swan's posing very nicely in that third shot.

I need to get out and find some good swans to shoot. They seem to make such nice subjects.(even though they can get nasty sometimes!!)

Good job Roger. I've always associated you with sports . Oddly enough, I have received my credentials and will be shooting baseball for a local pro team in a couple weeks.

So, look out I'll be begging for your help soon!

    Payn,

I haven't done sports in a long time, even though I think I posted some motor sport shots from a long time in the past.

Congrats on your creds. Look forward to seeing some of the pics.

Yeah, you don't want the pet dog on the boat, that's for sure, all hell lets loose.

The big laugh was the way he cleaned himself up before posing. Seemed to want his picture taken.

There were loads around this weekend so don't know where they've all been.

From you I take that as a real compliment. Still loads to learn though.

    Paul,

This was one shot out of 5 taken on the day. Its the middle of three and the last has half the gull (tail) as it dived straight down.

Nice work Roger, any all white bird can get really tricky with the metering with it having the whites blown out, and your focus and DOF is spot on.

    Thanks Bev,

I'm still trying to get the hang of the metering as its different from the pro1. Got a couple which are totally blown out before getting these.
