    Very nice work.

Shutter speed, use of good lighting conditions and poses.

    700mm, gimbal ?

Exceptional series here - my favorite is the stilt.

I see you shoot with the 1DmkIV and the 7D. How you rate the performance of the 7D in comparison to the 1D? Obviously two very different cameras for different purposes and markets but for sheer AF/ISO/IQ performance does the 7D come close?

    Re: Birds in flight

All my birds in flight are handheld. I had a 1D Mark IIN before the Mark IV. When I bought the 7D I found it hard to pick up the Mark IIN again because of the difference in megapixels(8 vs. 18). The 7D was my BIF camera until I bought the Mark IV. The 7D has 19 autofocus points and the Mark IV has 45. The Mark IV is much faster acquiring focus. The 7D is going to be a great backup camera and the IQ is much better on the Mark IV though not much over the 7D. I have not done much ISO comparison because I rarely go above 800 anyway. I would not hesitate to recommend either camera and I have used both of them on birds in flight.

    Sweet!

How do you like the Mark IV autofocus compared to the 7D or anything else? I have not used it yet but everybody seems to love the Mark IV AF. I know you say it's much faster but is it much more accurate? 45 points yes but the 39 cross-type points (with a 2.8 lens) is what I like!

I believe Canon finally got it right after the Mark III fiasco. With a 2.8 lens, it locks on fast. I had a Mark IIN and played with a Mark III and the Mark IV is the best camera I have had in my hands.
