Well done, all of them. And that first BIF is much more than OK.

Beautiful shots, I'd be thrilled with in flight shots like those.

    Re: Birdie, birdie

    Thanks, everyone, for commenting.

As most of you already know, those tufted titmouses and nuthatches are about the most fidgety things when they are nervous. I managed a few more of them during the day but I think, on average, they land for only about 2 seconds at a time. A good workout for sure!

AgingEyes - no flash. Just cranked up the ISO to 800 so that I could crank up the SS to 1/1500s.

Paulnj - thanks - that titmouse shot is a little too "up the skirt" than I normally would want but oh well

I thought it was interesting to watch how the woodpeckers would land and lick the sap running out of those two holes. Don't know if that is a learned behavior (to tap trees) but I tried to get one with it's tongue extended - no go as I couldn't see the tongue through the viewfinder. This is the best one of the series:

I was out the other day with my brand new Nikon 40x with my 18-200mm lens

gulls are easy to shoot, as they like to coast in the wind

these were shot on the "sports" setting.
