    Bird Shots With The D200

Here ya go Paul. Some type of shore bird, but I haven't a clue as to the name. This one was standing over three eggs.

The first shot is wide to show the terrain. The last shot is a crop of the eggs.

I was wondering. The Killdeer's I'm used to are a tad smaller, and much lighter in color. Also, if you get anywhere close to their nest, they will take off squaking bloody murder to draw your attention to them and away from the nest. This bird stood there, QUIETLY, and watched us pass by. I thought: "This can't be a killdeer!"

I'll check back on them from time to time. I'll get shots when I go. The lot is being re-developed (it's a beach lot), and we were there to check out the drainfield on the back of the lot. At the rate they're going, I'm hoping the chicks will hatch and be flying before the heavy construction begins.

One thing digital definitely has over film, is cleaner images for uploading!

    ;-)

The best scans are awesome, but none of the labs I use make awesome scans.

Those are extraordinarily nice, Speed. I've shot these a few times, but never gotten anywhere near as close or as much detail as you have. Rock on.
