At the moment im using a Kodak Z 740 , 10 Optical with a Olympus 1,7 TCon .The Nikon lens would be a Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6D ED, the TCon i really havent looked at yet also there`s a small chance that i could maybe consider a Canon Rebel XT at 8 Mp compared to the 6.1 of the Nikon.
I scrolled down Mjs1973 and i C that you indeed did have a Eastern Meadowlark

Little late to the party here, but I have a D50 and love it. So much so that I sold the D70 I had. I've seen refurbished D50s at beachcamera.com for $399. I also noticed that the price on the D70s has dropped to under $650 at the big reputable sites lately.

When I had my D70, I used it sometimes with a Nikon 75-300mm and a Tamron SP 1.4x TC. The autofocus worked, and was a touch slow, but I thought the images were pretty good.

The fact that the 70-300 with a 1.4TC could focus is SWEET to know!!!!
