    Brutal light...
This bird was on the water with the sun hitting it hard. I spot metered on the bird, but it wasn't enough. I have an idea what it might be, but could use your guidance, swami.

    Sat on your shoes ?

We've has mallards MUGGING us in Winter for food.
They can't rell bread from finger, so you have to be prepared for a little discomfort.
Plus they can't tell bread from shoelaces, which can make it interesting when you try to walk away.
