    Barred Owl....

    Found this guy along a birding trail i recently discovered....He was not camera shy!!

    I think one good thing about owls - not that I'm an expert or anything - is that they don't seem to go away when you photograph them. Some suggest that they can't see during day time. Is that true?

    Owls can see very well during the day. Actually, many owls have been observed hunting during the day.

    I have seen barred, barn, long eared and short eared hunting by day. N. hawkowl and great grey are known for hunting by day, but they never come to my area.

    Nice work Eric. Believe it or not, I've never captured a Barred Owl! I hear them all the ime, but never seem to get one to pose!

    I have been to corkscrew 3 times and seen atleast one every time... hahaha, but I call them in too
