I never get tired of seeing, and photographing Bald Eagles. Love the sharpness of the eye on both pics!

Bren, those are outstanding. Too bad the tree branches got in the way of the top shot. What did you use for these?

It is always nice to be able to see and photograph eagles. So far all of my experiences have been for great distances and only for a few moments. Stray branches are always a problem in bird photography, I wonder if you would be able to clone those out that are in front of the eagle’s head in the first shot. The second shot is very nice, I hope some day to have one as nice.

Great in-flight shot!! Forget work for the day, go photograph the Eagle's. You've got permission.

    Thanks for showing us these!

Really cool. I had only seen one wild eagle in my life and saw another not too long ago that I was able to photgraph from a distance, but nothing like this. Good job.

    Re: Bald Eagle

Thanks John, I used my Canon 350 digital rebel, with a lense 75x300. I have found that if I walk out down the path toward the tree the eagle will watch me but if I act like I am not paying attention to him he will sit and watch me. When I see that he is getting nervous then I start taking photos because I know he will only sit there for a few more seconds. Gotta love that continuious shots.

Greg, I have not had the time to try to clone the branches, I am hoping that I can with a little time.

This time of the year the bald eagles arrive around our area, they are pretty easy to pick out when they are in the bare trees. We have a mated pair that live about 1 mile from our town. Usually in the spring you can see the female in the nest. I would like to get a better zoom lense so I can take photos of the babies. Keeping my fingers crossed ;-)

The are great, and I love that flight image!

    Just so you know.....

Atleast in NJ, EAGLE NESTS have a 1000 foot restriction on them . It is a crime to go any closer without authorization. So check your states laws before getting close to a nest ;) I have been 500 feet from a 3 week out of the nest eagle, but that was as close as I was authorized to get the document shot. Less established nesting eagles will abandon the nest if harrassed too much.

Great shot in flight! Too bad the other was marred by all those dang limbs.
