    Back to nature

I haven't had time to get out and explore much in the last couple of weeks. Between the weather, processing images from Africa, shooting a wedding last weekend, processing wedding pics all this week and working, I just haven't been able to get out. :mad2:

Yesterday afternoon when I got done mowing lawns, I found some huge thistles. The flower heads on them were beautiful. I took a couple home with me to play with once I got some more time. Here is one I took tonight. As pretty as they are, they still have sharp thorns on the ends of the petals!

Love this image Mike. Great composition, and I love the slighty underexposed effect. Way to go.

Thanks Bob. The original was a little brighter, but I darkened it in post and like that look better.

Thanks Paul. Here is another version. This is a little smaller flower. After looking at this one, I see another shot I want to make. I better get the tubes out!

Like the second one. Looks like a good subject for a lot of photos.

Thanks AE. You are right, this is a very good subject. I took some more shots of it last night, but they are still in the camera. Things are way to crazy around here right now. I wish there were a few more hours in the day.
